Effective Records Management for CICs
This course provides an overview of best practices for managing association records in compliance with NRS 116. Participants will learn about common record types, the community manager’s role in maintaining and providing access to records, and which documents are available for review. The class also outlines the proper process for handling record requests and filing complaints related to recordkeeping issues.

Participants will learn about Division requirements, filing timeframes, and relevant NRS 116 regulations, as well as where to access and find guidance on completing these essential forms.
Governing Documents vs NRS 116
This course offers a foundational understanding of how NRS 116 interacts with an association’s governing documents. Participants will learn to recognize key legal terms, understand the hierarchy and authority of governing documents, and identify when boards have discretionary power. The class also examines when state law takes precedence, how NRS 116 delegates details to governing documents, and the potential consequences of non-compliance.
Pathway of Complaints
Learn the step-by-step process for filing complaints with the Ombudsman Office, including understanding the difference between a complaint for a violation of the governing documents (CC&Rs) and a complaint related to violations of NRS 116.
